Kerala
is famous for it’s traditional festivals. Utralikkavu Pooram is
another famous festival in Kerala. This festival is held at rudhira-mahakalikavu
temple in Wadakkancheri, Thissur district in Kerala, India.
Utralikkavu Pooram is the second largest
crowded Pooram In Kerala. (Thrissur Pooram is the Largest crowded Pooram in
Kerala). This festival is held on February -March month of Georgian calendar
every year.
During the time Of Pooram One can enjoy
Elephant procession, amazing fireworks, percussion orchestra etc. The location
of the temple itself is a great attraction. Utralikkavu temple is situated in
the middle of a paddy field and surrounded by hills. One can enjoy the scenic
beauty of nature.
WHEN IS UTRALIKKAVU POORAM ?
The Utralikkavu Pooram is conducted on
Malayalam month of ‘Kumbham’. Second Tuesday of ‘Kumbham’ month. This will be
on February last week or March early days.
In 2020, it will held On 25th February .

ATTRACTIONS
As like every Hindu festivals in Kerala ,
Utralikkavu Poorms has attarctions like Elephant Procession and fireworks. The attraction
which makes Uralikkavu pooram a unique experience is Kuthira vela , a
procession of wooden horses .

Other main attraction is Panchavadyam (an orchestra
using a combination of five different instruments, This musical art form was originated
in Kerala). Many famous Panchavadyam artists came on the pooram day to perform.
Out of which ‘Nadappura’ is a striking performance.
