International Day of Democracy, the day intends to promote and maintain
the principles of democracy. The word democracy comes from two Greek words demos and kratein, which
means "the people" and "to rule".
The vital goals of democracy are

To preserve and promote the dignity and fundamental rights of
the individual
2.
Achieve social consistency and justice
3. Promote economic and
social development to ensure social stability and well-being.

INTERNATIONAL
DAY OF DEMOCRACY HISTORY
International Day of Democracy was
chosen by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007 and It is observed annually on September 15th
.To
commemorate the International Day of Democracy, the assembly invited people
from both government and non-government organizations. And also for all
governments to build up their national programs dedicated for promoting
democracy. The assembly encouraged regional and other intergovernmental
organizations to share their experiences in promoting democracy.
