The World Telecommunication day raises the global awareness about the social changes that internet and new technologies made and   how information and communication is beneficial to our societies.
The day also aims to make the information and communication mare accessible to the people in rural and remote areas.

WORLD TELECOMMUNICATION DAY HISTORY
World telecommunication day was first celebrated in 1865 along with the anniversary of international telecommunication union (ITU).
And by 1969, world telecommunication day is annually celebrated on may 17th.

IS WORLD TELECOMMUNICATION DAY A PUBLIC HOLIDAY
World Telecommunication Day is a global observance and not a public holiday.

THEME FOR WORLD TELECOMMUNICATION DAY 2018
The theme for this year is “Enabling the positive use of Artificial Intelligence for All”
The theme will points out the prospective of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to speed up the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
