WORLD
MIGRATORY BIRD DAY (WMBD)
WMBD is an annual awareness-raising event for
highlighting the need for conservation of migratory birds and their habitats.
The day also points out the threats faced by
migratory birds, their ecological importance, and the need for global support
to save them.
This is a two day event.
WHEN IS WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY
Saturday 12 th May & 13 th October 2018 . From 2018, the UN
has decided to celebrate world migratory bird day twice in a year . Second Saturday of May and
October. In order to spread the awareness of migratory birds into a broader
audience .
This event was launched on 2006 April8-9. The
event is actually held on second week of may. It usually takes two days. Starts
on second Saturday of may and ends on the next day.

The WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY IS a UN supported
event It is not a public holiday.
