World book and copyright day is an event to observe the role of books and authors to our Global culture and the connection between copyright and books.
It's
an annual event to promote reading, publishing and copyright.

COPYRIGHT DAY

WHY ON 23RD APRIL
In
1995 UNESCO decided to commemorate world book day and copyright day on 23rd
April, as that date is also the death anniversary of William Shakespeare and
Inca Garcilaso de la vega as well as the birth or death date of several other
prominent authors.
HISTORY OF WORLD BOOK DAY
In
ancient days our books were not look like the way that they do today. Ancient
civilization invented writing systems thousands of years ago and they used clay tablets.
Later
Chinese were the first to make something that resembles today's book. That they
use of numerous thick bamboo pages swen together.
And
during mid 15th century
Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press brought books into industrial age making
them readily available to anyone who wanted to read.
CELEBRATION
The
best way to celebrate world book day is to find some time to do some reading.
Also
on that day a range of activities are conducted to promote reading and the culture
of aspect of books are held all over the world.
