world.
The Day also provides an opportunity to promote

families and to raise knowledge of the social, economic and demographic

In 1994, United Nations formally acknowledged the
International Day of Families in response to the modifying economic and social
which have affected and still affects the structure and stability of family
units in several parts of the world.

International Day of Families is an occurrence to replicate on the work started
during 1994 and since 1995 the day celebrates the importance of families,
people, societies and cultures around the world.
SYMBOL OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES
The symbol contains drawing elements of a house and a heart.
It signifies that families are the center part of any society
and they offer a supporting and stable home for all the ages.
THEMES
By 1996, the UN Secretary General chooses a theme for celebrating
International Day of Families, to provide a special attention to the particular
motto. And every year a new theme will be selected for the celebration. Mostly of
