It's
the annual day of GSLEN, and this days spread awareness about the effect of
bullying and harassing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students .
The
day of silence was established in 1996 to highlight the problems of LGBT
students.
The
main goal of day of silence is to make schools safer for all students
regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
On
that day many schools hosts “Break the Silence”events which include
workshops,speakers,entertainment,etc

GSLEN
stands for gay, lesbian and straight education network. It's an organisation
founded in 1990 in order to and discrimination, harassment and bullying based
on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
WHAT DO PEOPLE DO ON DAY OF SILENCE
The Day of Silence is observed by not speaking during class and using
only written forms of communication. The Day of Silence can be
observed in anyway like some students hold rallies and others hold lectures or
seminars.
