Why do we need to celebrate World Water Day?
World Water Day is celebrated  on 22nd of March by the people all across the world since 1993 by the decision of the United Nations General Assembly. The day is about focusing the importance of water and also it  provides  an opportunity to learn about water-related issues that affect us. And it promotes the responsible use of water and access to safe water for everyone. The day  also focuses on the importance of universal access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene  facilities in developing countries.

What is the importance of World Water Day?

Every day, people, animals, and plants depend on water for their survival. Water is one of our most important natural resources.  Water is necessary for food growth, energy production, individual well-being, and global health.

What was the theme of International Water Day 2018 ?

Every year it has an theme and for 2018 the theme is ‘Nature of Water’. Every year UN agencies promotes this campaign  which involves highlighting the water issues as well as coordinating with the international activities for the World Water Day. The UN-Water has been responsible for the selection of World Water Day theme, distribution of global messages as well as leading the UN agencies for celebrating the World Day for Water.
The World Health Organization’s targets on reducing the amount of untreated wastewater  and increasing the recycling and safe reuse of water around the world by the upcoming years.

How Do We Celebrated World Water Day?
   On this day various awareness programs related to water issues are provided to the public through media, skits, messages, seminars, educational events in schools,rallis,etc
