DOWN SYNDROME

          It’s an Genetic disorder that happens before birth.  Children with Down syndrome usually have physical growth delays and  certain features like a flat face and a short neck.And they also have mild to moderate intellectual disability.
          Down syndrome is a lifelong condition. But with care and support,and education children who have Down syndrome can grow up to have healthy, happy, and improved quality of life.
          Down syndrome is caused due to chromosome abnormalities. Normally, a person have 46 chromosomes, but most of the  people with Down syndrome have 47 chromosomes. These extra chromosome changes the way of brain and body development.

WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY

          March 21st  , World Down Syndrome Day was officially recognized by the United Nations since 2012. On this day, people all around the world celebrate the lives and achievements of people with Down syndrome.And also they organize and participate in activities and events to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.

Why March 21st

To signify the triplication of the 21st chromosome ,which causes Down syndrome.ie,the third month on the 21st day.
